  • Fraternity & Sorority Life

Since 1873, Fraternity & Sorority life has grown to become a vital part of the history and tradition of KU.  Today, KU Greek life represents more than 4,000 students and 47 different Fraternal organizations.  Each of these organizations is a member of one of the four governing councils; the Interfraternity Council (IFC), the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), and the Panhellenic Association (PHA).  The FSL community is committed to four pillars: Leadership, service, scholarship, and fellowship (brotherhood/sisterhood).

Fraternity & Sorority life Student Learning Outcomes

As a result of participating in our programs, interacting with our staff and being in our space, members of Greek Letter Organizations will be able to:

  1. Distinguish the importance of scholarship by engaging in academic responsibility and educational programming in and outside the classroom.
  2. Illustrate decision making and behaviors that support personal and organizational values.
  3. Compare the role of community involvement and social justice as it applies to the obligations of fraternal membership.
  4. Formulate meaningful relationships that lead to a culture of care and concern for others within their chapters and the larger Greek community
