The Crimson and Blue Society (“CBS”) is a co-curricular initiative designed to expose KU students to the university's vast amount of opportunities and resources and provide them with a roadmap to develop skills through experiences beyond the classroom.  Students who complete the curriculum are rewarded with membership in the Crimson and Blue Society, a distinguished and selective honor's society that includes the following privileges:

  • Crimson and Blue Society certificates

  • Expanded professional network

  • Resume booster

  • Invitation to exclusive alumni events


CBS is designed to achieve a variety of key learning outcomes that enhance the KU experience for students.  The learning outcomes include:

  • Creates meaningful connections through campus involvement

  • Promotes acquiring knowledge from a range of disciplines

  • Uses campus experiences to develop personal and professional skills

  • Stimulates intrapersonal and interpersonal development

  • Guide students towards identifying and developing their leadership skills



CBS categorizes KU's opportunities and resources into 8 achievement areas:

How to earn membership in the Crimson and Blue Society:

  1. Login to using your KU Student ID and password

  2. Participate in campus events, programs and organizations listed on the Crimson and Blue Society Curriculum

  3. Complete the necessary items under each of the 8 achievement areas

  4. Earn membership in the Crimson and Blue Society.
